Frannie Deane is an award-winning Sydney based artist who works with vibrant colours to create still-life, portrait and landscape paintings.
Having initially trained as a textile designer in England, where she was best known for her successful hand painted silk business, Frannie Designs, her work reflects a distinctive love of pattern, shape and complimentary colours.
Her most recent training at the Julian Ashton Art School, where she won a scholarship and still studies part-time, has taught her the importance of draughtsmanship and continues to develp both her observation and painting skills.
Frannie’s work ranges from quick atmospheric studies to more detailed paintings, but all are linked by a richness of composition and the use of luminous colour.
With a natural inclination towards large scale designs, Frannie has also been commissioned to work on a number of public art projects, re-imagining Sydney’s Traffic Signal Boxes and most recently, a mural on the sea wall at Bondi Beach.
As well as being a finalist in many prestigious Australian art prizes, she regularly exhibits in Sydney galleries. She is available for private commissions and also has existing work for sale.
